Nelson Jewell

God, family, country, and blue collar roots—in that order … that pretty much describes me. I'm a Mainer through and through. After dusting off the snow, I stumbled out of Presque Isle, Maine, back in the late 70’s to attend UMaine, and have never left the Bangor area since. From farm work, logging, aviation, education, and broadcasting, you might say I've lived an adventurous life. I love my wife (the bumper sticker on my truck says so), children, grandkids, church family, my crazy dogs, my ‘ol ‘97 GMC truck, motorcycle, country music, and a cold one once in a while to take the edge off. Be sure to listen in weekday afternoons on Maine’s Fun Country Station…Q-106.5.

Cash Mob Blesses and Surprises Avi the Store Owner [VIDEO]

I do love to shop in small stores. There is generally a feeling that can only be associated with living in a small town that you can't get anywhere else. Some small business owners really understand the importance of community, and they show it with simple gestures such as greeting you like you are somebody important; they learn your name; they know your family; they remember birthdays and anniversaries and so much more

Mystery of the McRib Meat Revealed! [VIDEO]

I can honestly say that I have never had a 'McRib Sandwich' from the fast food giant known as McDonald's. Ever since it was introduced to the McD's menu back in 1981, there was always a little controversy about the origin of the meat that makes up the McRib, so I really had no desire to try it. And other than disappearing off the menu a few times since then

Fake Robbery Bestows Wonderful Gifts to Orphaned Children [VIDEO]

I'm a sucker for happy endings. When I came across this video of a guy named Roman Atwood who teamed up with TigerDirect to stage a fake robbery at a children's orphanage all to bestow upon them some badly needed technology, I was a little suspect as to how it was all going to play out. But as you'll soon see, tears of sadness were quickly re

College Student Scores Four Shots Win $10K [VIDEO]

It was an incredible night for one college student at Bryan College, when his name was drawn from the crowd to enter a contest to win $10,000.
