Augusta Police are asking for the public's help identifying and locating a man accused of stabbing a woman on Sunday. 

Centralmaine.com reports the incident happened just after 6:00 Sunday night on Stewart Lane. The victim received non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released from MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. Police say she did not know the man who attacked her. The victim's name hasn't been released.

Police describe the suspect as a darker-skinned white man, in his 40's or 50's, with brownish-gray chin-length hair. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with white lettering, black jeans, white socks, and sandals, along with a baseball cap.
