Police in Auburn assisted a driver who told a dispatcher he found a snake in his vehicle and he'd "rather burn the car than touch the snake."

"Officer Travis Barnies was dispatched to this call for service (above & beyond if you ask me) today," the Auburn Police Department said in a Tuesday Facebook post.

According to the post, the dispatcher said "Caller has a snake in his car and wants assistance removing it...caller is afraid of snakes and would rather burn the car than touch the snake."

Officer Barnies said the snake was captured and then released unhurt.
