Arrests Made for a Violent Home Robbery Targeting Prescription Drugs

A Swans Island man is the second to be arrested and charged in connection with a home invasion robbery.The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office says Matthew Joy of Swans Island was arrested yesterday and charged with robbery and Joshua Smith of Milford was arrested on September 30thin connection to a robbery back in August in which the two men allegedly assaulted and restrained a man in his home on Oak Point Road in Trenton.

Investigators say the men were looking to steal prescription pain meds and Joy apparently knew the victim prior to the robbery, but they are not describing the relationship.

A camera set up on the property to photograph game actually captured the incident according to the sheriff’s department.
