A Caribou man faces a long list of charges after allegedly leading police on a chase that reached speeds of 120 mph.

Zachery Scott, 25, is charged with eluding police, criminal speeding, operating after suspension and violating conditions of release from a previous OUI charge, according to the Bangor Daily News.

At about 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Scott was spotted driving 71 mph in a 35 mph zone on Parsons Road, Presque Isle police officer Lucas Hafford told the BDN.

Hafford said he attempted to pull the vehicle over, but it sped up, reaching speeds of 120 mph in a 45 mph zone. Hafford said he stopped the chase for safety reasons near the Mapleton town line.

A short time later, Washburn police located Scott, who voluntarily pulled over and admitted to fleeing.

Scott is being held without bail in Caribou. He'll go on trial next month.
