Are Kids Being Targeted by Energy Drink Makers?
I kid you not, I had my first experience with an energy drink last weekend. I had just returned some unused supplies to a local hardware store and decided to stop into a convenience store in Brewer to quench my thirst. I grabbed an energy drink thinking it might give me the boost I needed...it didn't. And man, wasn't it sweet! I couldn't figure out what the hype was all about, then I remembered that I drink a lot of coffee during the week, and had already consumed three mugs that morning. I'm a bit immune to the effects of excessive caffeine. But kids are not! And I learned today that energy drink makers are going after the younger market. And get this, they are emphatically denying it!
There are some inherent dangers concerning kids and caffeinated products. Energy drink makers need to stop and fess up!
