A recent campaign asked lawmakers to approve replacing Andrew Jackson on the 20 dollar bill with a woman. And it gave Americans the chance to vote for their favorite! While the proposal has not been approved, the votes are in for who should grace the bills.

And the winner is.....Harriet Tubman! Born Araminta Ross, Tubman was born in 1822, the daughter of slave parents. Over the course of her life, she worked as an abolitionist, humanitarian, and even spent time as a Union spy in the Civil War. She accomplished all this despite the fact that she was so severely beaten by masters, to whom she was hired out, that she suffered a severe head injury and experienced headaches and seizures throughout her life.

Now, the 'Women on 20's' organization is inviting Americans to join its virtual March on Washington to formally show support for the initiative. You don't have to leave your home, just add #DearMrPresident to your social media posts. And, you can go on the Women in 20's website and show support that way.

Personally, I think it's a wonderful idea whose time has come. There are many women who helped shape the landscape of American history and deserve to be on our currency just as much as the men. So, let me say it again..... #DearMrPresident!
