I'm so sorry I missed this! The African Children's Choir brought their beautiful harmonies and rhythms to Ellsworth last month. I found a video today that shows some pictures of the performance but also a quick, acapella, live performance outside. Beautiful!

The African Children's Choir started in Uganda in 1984 as a way to not only help the local children, but also show the world that some of the most vulnerable kids in the world are also talented and beautiful. Now, the choir travels the world, bringing their lovely voices to communities everywhere.

I'm including a video that talks about the ACC and what it means to the kids. I think what struck me most was the comment that people in Uganda are poor...but they are happy. Maybe we 'rich Americans' could learn something from that. Be thankful for what you have - not envious of what you don't have.

The choir was in Ellsworth on May 24th, and I missed it. After seeing this video, you can be sure I'll be watching for them to return to the area again, so I can see them in person. Wow! Be sure to watch the entire video so you don't miss the children standing together outside, in Ellsworth, singing without all the music in the background. Just pure, sweet, young voices joining together in song. It will bring a smile to your face on a dark and gloomy Monday...guaranteed!
