You may have heard me talk about Orrington and how much I love living here. But, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. And these sweeping views of Orrington in Autumn will take your breath away!

Jim and I have lived in Orrington for four years now, and we love it here. We had both worked at Snow's Corner Store and so we were very familiar with the area, including the people. Orrington truly has a small-town country feel to it. There are a couple of town 'centers' where people meet up as they buy their morning coffee, evening pizza or sandwiches, or just drop by to pick up milk on the way home. We commented just the other day how nice it is to live in a town where people smile and wave as you drive by, even if they don't know you personally.

But, in addition to the people, we truly love the area. It's a town that's nestled in the woods, as this beautiful footage will show. In our part of town, houses are dwarfed by the trees that surround them and, in the fall, the colors are breathtaking.

Orrington is also home to several waterways, including Fields' Pond, Brewer Lake, and Swett's Pond, which is where we live. A picnic area off the Brewer Lake Road offers a tributary full of fish that flows over rocks, and leads to a historic mill site by the fire station.

The video was shot by Kevin Hanscom, of the Orrington Hanscoms. They've been a part of this community for as long as I've been aware of it. And his love for the beauty of the town is evident in the sweeping landscapes and amazing color.

Welcome to Orrington! Grab a cup of coffee, turn up your speakers, and enjoy my favorite place on Earth!
