My wife, Shirley, will attest that I'm the space geek in family. If a TV show comes on that deals with anything involving the universe, I gotta watch it.

Now if you're the same way, and you have kids with the same leanings, you're really gonna love this. There's a place in Orono where kids and adults can learn about the mysteries of space, it's called the Maynard F. Jordan Planetarium (Jordan Planetarium for short).

For the rest of September, the staff at the Jordan Planetarium has put together some great shows, like 2012: Prophecies of the Maya; Black Holes; A Trip Through Space; and Earth's Wild Ride! BTW, October has a great line up of shows too.

The Jordan Planetarium is located on the UMaine Orono campus at 5781 Wingate Hall.

You can find out more dates and times by calling 207-581-1341, or by visiting their website: Click the Planet!
