It's a sure sign of Spring, as time has come once again for the traditional, gubernatorial responsibility of ushering in the maple sugar season in Maine.

Maine maple syrup producers are set to join Governor Paul LePage tomorrow in Augusta as he taps a maple tree on the Blaine House lawn tomorrow.

Additionally, the Governor will address a new study showing the economic impact of Maine's maple industry.

As we reported earlier this year, many maple producers have already started the tapping and tubing process to collect the sap.

The ceremonial tapping will be held at 11am tomorrow, and the general public has a chance to check out maple syrup production at several state sugar houses coming up on Maine Maple Sunday, March 23rd.
