It's the little things in life that touch our hearts. Watching my granddaughter playing with my grandpuppy last night. Lunch with some of my kids yesterday. And pictures on Facebook this morning of utility crews in my town!

Of course, the arrival of utility crews in Orrington doesn't mean we'll all have power today. It's a fairly large rural area, with a lot of tree damage after Sunday's storm. But it's a start, right? It's a sign of hope! They're here. They're working. And the end is closer than it was yesterday!

Jim and I went a week without power over Christmas last year. We had a generator, so we weren't cold (all the time). But this year, we ended up staying with family in order to stay warm and praying our pipes didn't freeze. For anyone who's never had to endure lengthy power outages, it's difficult to describe just how challenging it is. JR Mitchell is finding that out this week, as are many of you.

If the crews haven't arrived in your town, I'm sorry if I sound like I'm rubbing it in. But, trust me, when you see the trucks, you'll be as excited as I am! Here's hoping I get to sleep in my own bed, snuggled with my loved ones tonight. And that those crews get to you very, very soon!

Oh, and thanks to fellow Orrington resident Becca Smith LaBrie for sharing these photos this morning. You  made a lot of folks in our town smile!
