Back in the 80's I was an avid runner, logging in about 70 miles per week of training time. I competed in countless races all over the state of Maine. One thing I never skimped on when it came to buying gear was running shoes. I'd drop anywhere from $70 to a little more than a $100 bucks on Nike and New Balance footwear. Not once did I ever regret it. But there is one thing that I regret today is that now I have a bum knee from all the abuse. It's bugging me right now even as I write this.

Today, however, when I read of a Marathoner who tackled a Baltimore marathon in Flip Flops, I thought: "Now that is stupid!" Did he get what he deserved? Read about it here:
