2015 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Awarded to Fort Knox Historic Site

Fort Knox has been recognized as a Top Performing Visitor Attraction as reviewed by travelers on the World’s Largest Travel Site

The award celebrates excellence in hospitality and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor. Certificate of Excellence winners include accommodations, eateries and attractions located all over the world that have continually delivered a superior customer experience.

The Friends of Fort Knox took total control of the State Park 5 years ago and success of the park has only grown since then. With more than 10 weekend events each year the Friends have raised enough funds to restore and reopen some of the closed sections of the fort to the public, as well as maintain regular maintenance work on things like windows, wooden floors and crumbling brickwork.

Some of the events that keep visitors coming back are the cannon firings and civil war reenactments, Pirate day, The Psychic and Paranormal Faire, Ghost Tours, Scottish Tattoo, and their largest event Fright at the Fort.

As a frequent visitor to the park as well as a volunteer and past employee I am very happy to see the Fort and the Friends of Fort Knox recognized for their efforts.
