I love Christmas music, so don't be surprised if you see a lot of Christmas music from the 1990's over the next few weeks! The 90's at Nine Online today features music from the former Mr. Lorrie Morgan, Sammy Kershaw with Christmas Time's a Comin'!

Sammy had a rough start to his musical career. His grandfather taught him guitar at the age of 11. But when Sammy's father died later that year, he had to work a variety of day jobs while playing in clubs at night to support the family. By his late 20's, all that hard living had taken its toll and Sammy had developed a serious drug and alcohol problem. So, to save himself, he turned his back on music and went to work as a remodeling supervisor for Walmart. One of his demo tapes made its way to Mercury Records Nashville when Sammy was 33 years old, and his career was launched.

Sammy Kershaw and Lorrie Morgan married in 2001, but the marriage was troubled. The couple divorced in 2007. His musical career has also struggled so he's worked to try and enter politics in Louisiana, running (and losing) twice for lieutenant governor of the state.

Kershaw's music often reflected his Bayou routes, and this song is no exception. Love the Cajun flavor to the instrumentals in this song!
