Some have been around since your grandparents were children, others are new! Here are some places you can grab your food to-go at a window!

These places may not seem like much as most are very small, but they add up in taste and experience! I grew up with at least one visit to #3 on this list every summer and it was something I always looked forward to!

Maine take-out offers some of the best fried and sometimes fresh seafood! Not to mention very fresh fries from the county and many are family owned making them all around great places to stop for a bite!

Here are some of our favorites from Penobscot County and the surrounding area:

1. Berryland- 990 Rt 2 Winn, ME.

Seafood including delicious scalops, burgers, and ice cream are all favorites at this out of the way take-out. There are seats available here as well.

2. Carrier's Mainely Lobster- 10 State Rt 46 Bucksport, ME.

Although their name says mainely lobster, they have a lot more than that! Some of the best original creations like the 'Sloppy Shelby' or the 'Mega Myler Burger'. Indoor and outdoor seating is available here as well.

3. Craig's Clam Shop- 92 Main St. Patten, ME.

Of course they have fantastic whole belly clams, but customers here really rave about the milk shakes and chicken fingers too! This is a great spot to stop when headed into the Katahdin region.

4. Crosby's Drive-In- 30 State Rt. 46 Bucksport, ME.

This is one place that has been around for a long time and local and tourists continue to come back with no complaints! Huge serving sizes, delicious food, and fast service! Everything you could want in take-out! They even have a playground for the kiddos!

5. Jimmie's Ice Cream and Grill- 409 N. Main St. Brewer, ME.

This take-out location is known for their great food, but famous for their ice cream concoctions! Their secret menu was reveled when Buzzfeed shared '5 Reasons to Eat at Jimmie's This Year'.

6. Sawyer's Dairy Bar- 34 Main St. Newport, ME.

Once again, it's not all in the name! Yes they have awesome ice cream, but their fried seafood and onion rings are worth stopping for as well! The dairy bar has been around since the 1950's so a visit here has become a family tradition for many!

What are some other places we should add to our list?! Where is your favorite take-out?
