43-Pound Snapping Turtle Found in Maine [VIDEO]

This turtle is big and old, but we're not sure we would have got as close to it as this guy.

According to Michael Merchant, who is seen above with the beast, this big guy was over 100 years old and more than 40lbs! This snapper was found in Maine although it is unclear where exactly. But like Merchant says in the video "That'll scare the crap out of somebody".

Have you ever seen a snapping turtle this big in Maine? How cool are his arms and hands?! He looks like a dinosaur!

Apparently there are a couple tricks that can help if you do get bit by a snapper:

1. Blow into their mouth, they should release

2. Tap the top of their head, but watch your own hand

3. Just wait it out, eventually they will loosen their grip and you will be free!
