4 people, including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, have been shot by a gunman who opened fire on a baseball game involving members of Congress.

Details are still coming in, but it appears this morning's shooting happened at the dugout of a field in Alexandria, Virginia, used for Congressional baseball practice. Two Capitol Hill police officers were also hit, before the gunman was shot. CNN reports that it appears Scalise was shot in the hip and had been taken to a hospital by medevac helicopter.

Representative Mo Brooks was on deck when the suspect began shooting from behind the third base dugout. He told CNN that there were members of Congress and staffers lying on the field once the shots rang out. The suspect was shot, according to CNN, and is 'in custody.'

We'll update this story as more details become available.
