An October investigation into the illegal distribution of Heroin and Crack Cocaine led to 4 arrests by the Maine DEA York County District Task Force. Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says agents responded to complaints from neighbors at a Summer Street apartment in Biddeford about people coming and going from the complex, as well as out of state vehicles routinely picking up and dropping people off there.

The investigation revealed that out of state drug traffickers were staying in a bedroom at apartment 8, where they repackaged heroin and crack cocaine for resale throughout Biddeford. Agents were able to conduct undercover purchases of heroin. On November 4th agents, the Biddeford Police Department, and members of the Southern Maine Violent Crimes Task Force executed the search warrant at 47 Summer Street, Apartment 1. Upon entry, four people were located throughout the apartment and detained without incident.

Arrested were:

Christopher Clayton (24), of Boston, Massachusetts – charged with Class A Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule Drugs (Crack Cocaine)

Jasmine Branao (23), of Boston, Massachusetts – charged with Class A Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule Drugs (Crack Cocaine)

Athina Goldwait (32), of 47 Summer Street, Apt. 1, Biddeford, Maine – charged with Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Crack Cocaine)

Casey Goldwait (24), of 47 Summer Street, Apt. 1, Biddeford, Maine – charged with Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Crack Cocaine)

A search of the apartment revealed approximately 3oz of Crack Cocaine, 8 grams of Heroin, a loaded firearm, scales and packaging materials. Also seized was approximately $800 dollars in suspected drug proceeds as well as two State of Maine EBT cards suspected of being used as collateral for illegal drugs. The approximate street value of the seized drugs is $10,000 dollars.

The four people arrested were transported to the York County Jail by the York County Sheriff’s Department where bail was set.
