Craig Morgan is one of the many talented country musicians that will headline this year’s Taste of Country Music Festival — but he’s the only U.S. Army veteran. Morgan will perform during the country music (and camping!) fiesta taking place June 13-15, 2014 at Hunter Mountain in New York.

Before really getting into music, Morgan served in the U.S. Army for ten years, then becoming a reserve for nine years. He then found his music career in 2000 with Atlantic Records, where he released his debut self-titled album. That album saw three singles, including his first Top 50 hit, ‘Something to Write Home About.’

After the label closed its Nashville doors, Morgan moved over to Broken Bow Records in 2002 and recorded three albums. ‘I Love It,’ ‘My Kind of Livin” and ‘Little Bit of Life’ were all products of BBR and were home to several big hits for the singer. The memorable ‘That’s What I Love About Sunday,’ ‘Redneck Yacht Club’ and ‘Tough’ were some of Morgan’s first hits.

The Tennessee native’s strong voice and songwriting skills are what landed him a spot as member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2008. Morgan has since singed with BNA Records and now is a Black River Entertainment artist. He has had seven Top 10 hits, and despite being busy touring, somehow finds time to do charitable work and spend time with his wife and four children. In 2011, it even made the news that Morgan had rescued two kids from a house fire in his now home of Dickson, Tennessee.
